Dear Students and parents
I have attached a notification of EGM and a nomination form with this newsletter.
The EGM will be held on 18th November 2007. I hope you all come to this important
meeting.
For Hampstead Branch
Playground - To safe guard of our students, I have discussed with the Haverstock
school about when they rent out the big playground for other function.
They have agreed that our students will have an exclusive and secure playground space on the court yard beside the west dining area. Whenever they have a booking and they will inform me in advance. I will put a notice on the first floor foyer.
We strongly recommend that parents with children under eight remain on the premises in case of emergency. A meeting room B125 is provided for you. In addition, I think it will be better to have two more parents stand on duty in the playground with the teachers. I would like to start a rota on duty list. Please contact me if you are willing to help. I will be in Room B125 from 1.15-3.45 during school time.
Car Parking- I have also complained to the Haverstock School about our car park facilities. The school guarantees it will be only for our parents or students; this facility is to ensure parents/carers can register all children upon arrival and on the departure.
For all students and members:
Members log in- I apologise for many parents who have the problem to log in the website. It was my mistake to make the log in so complicated, now I have reset the user name and password, each class only has one user name and one password, and the course teacher will give you the details today. I am really SORRY for any unconvinced caused to you. Thank you for your patience.
Asset Languages- We will start to do the internal assessment in November and the
external assessment in May 2008. For more information about Asset Language's assessment scheme, Please refer to www.assetlanguages.org.uk.
The FIRST EMPEROR, CHINA'S TERRACOTTA ARMY EXHIBITION -
The date is now changed to the 2nd February 2008 (Saturday) from 9.00-10.00am, Refreshments will be provided after the exhibition. I hope we can provide this visit free to all students, however this will subject to the funding application.
School Language Programme to China or Taiwan -
It has become so popular in the last 2-3 years for an immerse programme during the summer holiday. I have received information from OCAC offering Chinese Language courses. Please refer to http://www.ocav.gov.tw/華裔青年活動專區
On the 25th November, I invited Anne Martin comes to our school to talk about Language programme to China. Anne Martin has taken groups to China for many years; she has offered an initial talk about the trip. If you are interested about this please come to register with me before the 18th November (EGM date), if we have less than 15 people registered, then I will cancel it.
Sincerely Yours
Katja Ting
Principal
